Is there anything better than going to your favourite bar and watching the bartender make your cocktail of choice?
We just love it. The care. The theatre. The anticipation. All to be followed by having the most delicious drink.
Thankfully, alcohol is no longer a necessity to enjoy world-class cocktails.
Bar Swift, Soho- A fab bar if you are in London
The days of super sweet mocktails, which are primarily fruit syrups and juices, are behind us, and the variety of quality low and no alcohol cocktail recipes are growing rapidly!
Even a simple trip to your local supermarket will open up a world of low and no that has a new addition every week or so. Hurrah!
And so, with low and no in mind, we will introduce to this tipple of choice which got us through the week, and which is now a staple cocktail in our household.
Freshly Squeezed Grapefruit Juice
This recipe lies somewhere between a Negroni and a Sbagliato; using Seedlip (alcohol-free gin style spirit) and the alcohol-free Martini Vibrante as the base, and turning it up with a healthy twist of freshly squeezed ruby grapefruit and soda.
Serve over ice with a sprig of fresh herb; basil, mint and rosemary all go well (yes, we tried them all!)
The herbs also greet you with a delicious aroma before you take your first sip. A wonderful introduction to this aperitif that won't disappoint.
The new Martini Vibrante
What you need:
50ml Seedlip Spice 94
50ml Martini Vibrante
100ml ruby grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed if poss!)
Soda
Herbs; rosemary, basil or mint
Method:
In a mixing glass add the Seedilp, Martini Vibrante and grapefruit juice. Mix together briefly (not too long as you don't want to dilute it) and pour over ice in your glass of choice. If you have it, a big sphere or lump of ice is better!
Top with soda and your herb garnish of choice.
Enjoy!
